About the formal range

Seven colourways, one shirt. Every formal shirt Clewelle makes is the same garment underneath: full sleeve and button-front, a point collar carrying a woven Clewelle neck label, and a single-button barrel cuff with a placket button above it. The finish is solid and smooth, with nothing printed or patterned on it. What changes between them is the colour.

The palette is deliberately a step off the white-and-blue rotation most formal ranges stop at — sage, stone, grey mist, camel, rose pink and burgundy, plus a true black with tonal buttons. All of them are muted enough to stay office-appropriate against charcoal or navy trousers, which is the point of choosing them over a brighter shirt.

Every colourway runs the full 38 to 46 size range and costs ₹1,090, inclusive of GST, and every order ships free anywhere in India. One fit note: the black shirt is cut slim, so size up if you prefer room through the chest. The other six share the same regular cut.

The shirts are cut and sewn in our own unit in Hyderabad. We spent six years making shirts for other labels before putting our own name on them in 2024, which is why this range starts from construction rather than from a look.
